BY THE COMMUNITY, FOR THE COMMUNITY Projek Positif Member of Parliament for Jurong GRC Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, joined over 100 volunteers at Wisma MENDAKI for our ‘Pagi Raya Package’ Giveaway on 2 June 2019 as part of the Projek Positif. Volunteers lent a hand to pack the hampers, which consisted of goodies like instant lontong and rendang, cordial drinks and Raya cookies worth $50 each. Over 200 beneficiaries received the hampers. The second part to Projek Positif was an empowerment programme, where participants could choose from 3 workshops – baking, sewing or handyman classes. The programme was designed to impart skills which could be monetised and potentially be a source of income in times of need. Participants from our baking class contributed to the Jualan Amal by helping to bake the cookies for sale. In all the Jualan Amal raised close to $6,000. All proceeds went to the ETF.
