Research & Planning Executive Officer

The Executive Officer supports the Research and Planning Department’s initiatives. The officer is to conduct research and recommend policy and inputs for matters pertaining to the Malay/Muslim community. The officer will also be involved in the organisation’s planning processes.

Main responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor research projects on issues affecting the MM community
  • Monitor and analyse trends and recommend follow-up strategies
  • Propose, conceptualise and initiate pilot studies in assigned portfolio
  • Facilitate dissemination of information and knowledge pertaining to community issues  
  • Facilitate organisation’s workplan discussions 
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources for various reports
  • Any other duties as directed and assigned by the Reporting Officer

Requirements
  • Degree in Human/ Social/ Political Sciences, Sociology or any related subject from a recognized institution
  • At least two to three years' relevant professional experience
  • Strong interest in Malay/Muslim community issues
  • Possesses an analytical mind with strong ability to sense-make data trends and issues affecting the Malay/Muslim community.
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Resourceful, able to work autonomously and with teams

MENDAKI Club (MClub) Executive Assistant (2-year Contract)

The Executive Assistant supports the MClub Secretariat and executive committee to conceptualise, organise, and deliver plans and programmes to help Malay/Muslim students and young professionals (i.e. youths aged between 13 – 35 years) excel and support one another. The officer is responsible for assisting in the promotion and delivery of the organisation’s programmes and initiatives

The officer is expected to work in a variety of environment - over weekends & public holidays and may be required to  travel out of the office premises to support ExCo meetings and programmes.

Main responsibilities
  • Programme Development and Implementation 
  • Support the planning and implementation oCareerConnectionf Career and Community programmes and initiatives for youths. This includes s’ partner events.
  • Assist in the organisation of publicity, manpower, and logistics for the successful delivery of programmes 
  • Solicit and collate programme feedback from volunteers, participants, and partners 
  • Maintain the database of volunteers and participants 
  • Engage with and match volunteers to appropriate Career and Community programmes and initiatives or volunteer roles. 
  • Support the department in procurement and vendor managementgenerating purchase orders 
  • Assist the department in budgeting and monitoring and reconciling budget utilization.

Requirements
  • Diploma in any relevant fields from a recognised institution
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an administrative position
  • Pleasant & friendly disposition, with strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills both in English and Malay
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented and able to empathize/engage with youths well
Those with prior experience in youth engagement and events management would be an advantage
Strong passion to work in the Social Service Sector

Communications Executive Officer

The Executive Officer supports Senior Executive Officer/Senior Manager in a range of activities such as branding, advertising and communications. He/she will be responsible for the coordination and execution of all strategic corporate communications plans. In support of the marketing activities/strategies, the officer serves as the creative centre for content and collateral production with an emphasis on digital platforms.

The officer will also be required to establish and maintain good relations with the media including the production of media related documents and responding to all media queries promptly. He/she will be responsible for all efforts required to effectively represent the organisation and events to stakeholders.

Main responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

  • Supports the marketing efforts to promote the organisation’s programmes to key stakeholders especially through digital platforms
  • Contribute to the organisation’s media relations with various media partners across different media types and channels and coordinate media and press features with partners

Collateral Design and Production

  • Work with various project managers to design programme collaterals such as programme booklets, certificates or other event effects
  • Create posters, banners, and other digital or print collateral for the advertisement/ marketing of MENDAKI events and products

Brand Management

  • Ensure consistent messaging and communication of MENDAKI’s image and position to both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Communications, Public or Media Relations or New Media from any recognized institution
  • Well-versed with digital platforms including social media

Other Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiar with Photoshop and Illustrator
  • An independent worker and a go-getter who takes initiatives
  • Resourceful, ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meticulous
  • Strong passion to work in the Social Service Sector

Organisational Development Executive Officer (1-year Contract)

The Executive Officer supports the Senior Manager in implementing effective knowledge management strategies.  He/she is responsible for assisting in executing solutions to enhance organisational productivity.

Main responsibilities
  • Assist in the Business Excellence initiatives for the organisation
  • Assist to manage organisation records and document repository system, and promote knowledge sharing
  • Assist to prepare and evaluate data, information and reports on corporate performance and recommend appropriate actions to support business decisions
  • Assist in the development of the organisation’s programme evaluation framework
  • Provide administrative support to the organisation to deliver programmes and projects
  • Any other duties as directed and assigned by the Reporting Officer

Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Business Administration/ Management, Organisational Development or any related subject from a recognized institution
  • At least two to three years' relevant professional experience

Required Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholders across different levels
  • Good project management and time management skills
  • Good data analytic and report writing skills
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
