Community Outreach Executive Assistant – MENDAKI @ Heartlands (1-Year Contract)

Based in the eastern part of Singapore, you will assist the Centre Coordinator in the development and implementation of community outreach and engagement strategies unique to the centre. This will also include overseeing the day to day operations of the centre.

You will work closely with the Centre Coordinator to increase participation in programmes and services provided at the centre, identify community interests, needs and issues, and plan and deliver a wide range of activities in response to those diverse needs.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with Grassroots volunteers and community partners to help identify community needs and reach out to families with school going children, minimize duplication and promote partnership working.
  • Assist the Centre Coordinator in managing and promoting outreach activities, ensuring that they are geared to the specific needs of the local community.
  • Develop in collaboration with local communities a lively, challenging and wide array of learning opportunities including workshops, events and support materials for both parents and their school going children.
  • Contribute in establishing and maintaining systems for monitoring and evaluating services through the collection and analysis of public and other feedback
  • Any other duties assigned by the Centre Coordinator

Requirements:
  • A good Diploma from a recognized institution
  • Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office applications
  • Passion for outreach, with a prior experience in the social services sector an advantage
  • Pleasant and friendly disposition with strong interpersonal and good communication skills both in English and Malay (to liaise with Malay-speaking associates)
  • A strong passion to work in the Social Service Sector

Community Outreach Executive Officer - MENDAKI @ Choa Chu Kang

You will be required to particular responsibility for the development and implementation of community outreach and engagement strategies unique to his/her satellite centre. Apart from the following duties, this will also include overseeing the day to day operations of the satellite centre.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement community outreach and engagement strategies to increase participation in MENDAKI’s programmes and services.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with community partners, to help identify community needs and reach out to families with school going children.
  • To develop, in collaboration with community stakeholders, a  lively and varied learning environment for both parents and their school going children while contribute in establishing and maintaining systems for monitoring and evaluating services through the collection and analysis of public and other feedback.
  • To supervise and ensure the registration of Information and Referrals by the Registrar into the Case Management System (CMS) and Yayasan MENDAKI Information System (YMIS).
  • To supervise the administration of Information and Referral services for families (cases) received through outreach efforts and ensure that the information is administered in accordance to the Case Management System (CMS) and Yayasan Mendaki Information System (YMIS) frameworks.
  • Ensure interim and final replies to referrals made by Social Service Agencies (SSOs, FSCs, VWOs, etc) are sent out expeditiously.
  • To track and recommend case closures expeditiously in accordance to the guidelines in the Information & Referral Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Requirements:
  • Degree from a recognised institution
  • An effective team player and a go-getter who takes initiatives and possesses good communication and writing skills
  • Able to also work independently
  • Outgoing, energetic, self-motivated
  • 3-4 years’ experience in relevant fields
  • A strong passion and a proven track record for outreach work.
