PROGRESSING AS A COMMUN ITY PROGRESSING WITH PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN GETTING THE CHILDREN SCHOOL READY Play is a legitimate right of every child. Apart from being a fun activity, play represents a crucial aspect of their early physical, intellectual and social development. In 2019, MENDAKI took a targeted approach to ensure that young children in our community have access to opportunities in early learning. On top of incorporating the concept of play to generate the awareness on its importance and role in the holistic development of children, our programmes also empowered parents with Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) knowledge in guiding them to become their child’s first teacher. 31 MENDAKI ANNUAL REPORT 2019
