ESTABLISHING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS COMING TOGETHER IN CELEBRATION OF KNOWLEDGE RAIKAN ILMU The whole is indeed greater than the sum of its parts. 2019 saw a slew of partner organisations, associations and groups of diverse business functions convening and aligning their objectives to that of Raikan Ilmu. In the spirit of embracing learning as a way of life, these stakeholders partnered MENDAKI in its inaugural Raikan Ilmu to bring about a community movement. Close to 100 partners supported in multiple ways, from offering learning programmes/activities within their own premises and at MENDAKI’s signature events, to sponsoring venues and securing participation for the different Raikan Ilmu activities through their respective networks of families and stakeholders. More than 50 programmes were conducted, ranging from reading and storytelling to coding, crafts, financial literacy workshops, youth developmental workshops, and many more. This illustrated the diversity in knowledge to be celebrated. Throughout the whole month, about 30,000 Malay/Muslims from various backgrounds and demographic participated in Raikan Ilmu activities, from the very young ones to those young at heart. 61 MENDAKI ANNUAL REPORT 2019
