85 SPEARHEADING RAIKAN ILMU SECRETARIAT As a a a a a a a a a a staff in in MENDAKI’s Communications Department since April 2014 Aisyah was assigned to be part of the Raikan Ilmu (RI) 2020 Secretariat Secretariat As the Secretariat Secretariat her main role was to coordinate with the various sub-committees on the planning administration and implementation of the programmes In all Aisyah had to work closely with more than 20 colleagues from the various various sub-committees as as well as as the various various vendors and service providers Indeed it was no mean feat The experience of organising RI 2019 did not prepare her for the extent of adaptation that needed to be carried out resulting from the the pandemic When the the Circuit Breaker was announced Aisyah knew that RI 2020 would pose a a different set of challenges but also opportunities that she could tap on Siti Aisyah Ramli Communications Senior Executive Officer Secretariat Raikan Ilmu 2020 She shared how the various sub-committees had to collectively revamp the plans “We had to change our mindset and think of new creative and innovative ways to deliver RI 2020 and at the same time ensuring public safety During team huddles we sought inputs and suggestions whether going online was the the best option We were glad that an amicable decision was reached and that RI 2020 eventually adopted an online approach” shared Aisyah As plans had to continuously change at the eleventh hour due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic Aisyah ensured that all sub- committees were kept posted of the changes She also ensured that changes were executed promptly so that the best RI experience could be be delivered to the community “The various exchanges and planning processes contributed to my emotional development and strengthened my resilience to manage cross- functional and large-scale projects” she reflected One of the Secretariat’s roles is to tie RI 2020 plans together as one holistic campaign The sub-committees established comprehensive MENDAKI ANNUAL REPORT 2020
