Individual Sponsorship – Overseas Programme

The Individual Sponsorship aims to allow students as well as professionals to fulfil their educational aspirations through overseas exchange programme, summer schools and overseas conference. This is a collaborative effort towards enhancing the community’s academic opportunities and provides access to alternative pathways.

Kindly note that due to the already established endowment fund between Yayasan MENDAKI, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for student overseas exchange programme, all sponsorship applications from NUS and NTU students for students overseas exchange programme must be submitted to the NUS office and NTU office respectively, who would then administer the sponsorships accordingly.

Background

  • The sponsorship schemes available were created specifically for Student Organisations and Informal bodies. Between 2012 and 2013, Yayasan MENDAKI received special sponsorship requests for individuals.
  • Discussions with student organisations revealed that increasingly, overseas exchange programmes, summer schools in a foreign university and/or overseas study trips have become part of the educational experience for many Malay/Muslim students. Hence, a structure for Individual Sponsorship Requests was introduced in 2014.

  • For student exchange programmes, a quantum of up to $3000 or 30% of total costs, whichever is lower
