Reading@the Gardens would not have been a success without the support of our community partners. From the setting up of booths that featured fun activities such as drawing, sensory play, painting with natural pigments, to bringing in participants for the event, MENDAKI is extremely thankful for the generous contribution of our partners. The month of Celebrating Knowledge continued with a jam-packed calendar of events that drove our movement of cultivating a culture of lifelong learning in the community. Thus, it was only fitting that Raikan Ilmu concluded with Learning Festival which took place over two days at Our Tampines Hub. A joint collaboration with People’s Association, the Learning Festival highlighted the importance of learning through engaging the community at large. Featuring activity booths from various partners, workshops and electrifying stage performances, the event drew more than 20,000 attendees of all ages and background. From Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence to 3D printing and other digital innovations, the Learning Festival saw attendees expanding their learning horizons and getting acquainted with the latest technology trends at the FutureReady Marketplace. Attendees, especially working adults, were also encouraged to explore new skills to upgrade themselves by signing up for training courses on offer at various booths. For families with young children, the event also featured PlayFest where their little ones can learn through fun, interactive play. There was indeed something for everyone at the Learning Festival. More importantly, the event encouraged the larger community to come together and cultivate a culture of learning while developing one’s self. In today’s dynamic and constantly evolving environment, attaining new skills and knowledge can ensure our relevance and ability to reach greater peaks of success as a collective community.
