Introduction
The scholarship was introduced in October 2006. It aims to alleviate the financial hardship faced by Muslim medical or dental students who do not currently qualify for other scholarships and bursaries.

Eligibility Criteria
- Singapore Muslim Citizens (regardless of race) or Permanent Resident of Singapore who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution.
- Year 1 to year 5 medical or dental students studying at a local or overseas universities recognised by PSC.
- Good academic results are to be given priority for the award. However, if the results are comparable, then those with a lower per capita income would be given priority.
- Not in receipt of other scholarships.
Conditions
- Applicants from the low-income family will be given priority.
- Each applicant needs to submit only ONE application to Yayasan MENDAKI to be eligible for all other schemes. Multiple applications from the same applicant will be closed.
- Applications will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents. Incomplete applications will be closed.
- Applicant must be a confirmed student of the local institutions mentioned above.
- Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants.
- Being eligible does not guarantee an award.
- Interviews may be held for shortlisted candidates and being eligible for the interview does not guarantee an award.
- The Scholarship shall be used for the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the recipient is enrolled in.
- Applicants must re-apply to be considered for the scholarship in the following academic year, subject to meeting all the criteria.

Mandatory documents required to submit application
- Front and Back Copy of NRIC of applicant and all family members residing in the same household.
- Applicant’s most recent academic transcript clearly indicating their:
- Full Name,
- Name of Course & Level and
- Subject Score or CGPA.
- Proof of student confirmation into Institution (Acceptance Letter) clearly stating:
- Full Name,
- Name of Course and
- Start Date.

- Latest payslip for all employed working adults in the household or official Letter from employer indicating the latest income.
- Latest Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) Notice of Assessment (NOA) for all self-employed household members.
- Latest CPF Contribution Statement for all Unemployed adults in the household.
- All relevant Certificate of Marriage, Death Certificate, Divorce Certificate, etc
- In 150 words, share your achievements & your goals in the next 5 & 10 yrs in MS Word Format.
- Other supporting Documents if any.
Application Procedure
- First time applicants must create an account to be able to proceed with the application.
- Applications should be submitted via MyMENDAKI portal by clicking the Tab below.
- We will be in touch with you within 6 to 8 weeks upon closure of the application window.
- Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
- Yayasan MENDAKI’s decision on the outcome of all applications shall be final and not subject to further review or appeal.
