Education Trust Fund (ETF) - Mohamedally Sithawalla Bursary (ITE)

Introduced in June 2023, the bursary supports deserving Malay/Muslim students, prioritising those from financially disadvantaged families, enrolled in ITEs and Polytechnics. The bursary encourages students to continue excelling in their studies.


Application Period

18 Jan 2026 – 30 Apr 2026 (Academic Year : Apr 2026 - Feb 2027)

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Malay/Muslim Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  2. Has achieved good academic results in his/her academic studies and is pursuing/will pursue full-time education in any three local ITEs (first year students):
    1. ITE College East
    2. ITE College Central
    3. ITE College West
  3. Have a gross household per capita income (PCI) of S$1000 and below
  4. Not in receipt of any other bursaries.


Value of Award

Total number of awards : 2
Quantum : $2,000 per year


Terms and Conditions

  1. Only complete applications with all mandatory documents provided will be processed. Applications that do not fulfill the eligibility requirements will be rejected.
  2. Applicants will be shortlisted based on a competitive evaluation among eligible applicants. Do note that fulfilling the eligibility requirements does not automatically result in an award.
  3. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
  4. Each Bursary is applicable for ONE Academic Year.
  5. The Bursary is intended to support the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for institution-organised educational activities.
  6. Recipient must re-apply to be considered for the Bursary in the following academic year, subject to meeting all the criteria.

Mandatory Documents Required for Your Application

  1. Applicant’s latest academic transcript results clearly indicating:
    1. Full Name
    2. Name of Course & Level and
    3. Subject Score or CGPA
  2. Proof of student confirmation into Institution clearly indicating:
    1. Full Name
    2. Name of Course and
    3. Start Date
  3. In no more than 150 words, share your achievements & outline your goals for the next 5 & 10 years. Please submit your response in MS Word format.
  4. Other supporting documents if any.


Application Procedure

  1. All applications must be submitted online.
  2. Processing will take up to 4 weeks.
  3. Shortlisted applicants will be notified.

NOTE : MENDAKI’s decision on the outcome of all applications shall be final and not subject to further review or appeal.
