Education Trust Fund - The Saleh and Gato Motiwalla Bursary, University

The scheme was introduced in January 2026. It is to support and encourage deserving Malay/Muslim students who are enrolled in a bachelor course of study in the field of science, technology, engineering or mathematics from National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) or Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Priorities are given to students from financially disadvantaged families.


Application Period

13 May 2026 – 15 Jul 2026 (Academic Year : Apr 2026 - Feb 2027)


Eligibility Criteria

  1. Malay/Muslim, Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.
  2. Is pursuing full time education bachelor's degree programme in any of the following autonomous local universities in Singapore:
    1. National University of Singapore (NUS)
    2. Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
    3. Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
  3. Enrolled in a course of study in the field of science, technology, engineering or mathematics
  4. Have a gross Household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$1000 and below.
  5. Is not in receipt of any other scholarships

Mandatory Documents Required for Your Application

  1. Applicant’s latest academic transcript results clearly indicating:
    1. Full Name
    2. Name of Course & Level and
    3. Subject Score or CGPA
  2. Proof of student confirmation into Institution clearly indicating:
    1. Full Name
    2. Name of Course and
    3. Start Date
  3. In no more than 150 words, share your achievements & outline your goals for the next 5 & 10 years. Please submit your response in MS Word format.
  4. Other supporting documents if any.

  2. Processing will take up to 4 weeks.
  3. Shortlisted applicants will be notified.
