The scheme was introduced in October 2021. It aims to support deserving Malay/Muslim students who are pursuing Master’s degree coursework programme in Science or Engineering-related fields at local autonomous universities.

Application Period

13 May 2026 – 15 Jul 2026 (Academic Year : Aug 26 - May 27)

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Malay/Muslim Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.
2. Pursuing a full-time Science or Engineering related Master's degree course or obtained admission to a Master’s degree programme by any of the following six local Universities:
   1. National University of Singapore (NUS)
   2. Nanyang Technological University of Singapore / National Institute of Education (NTU/NIE)
   3. Singapore Management University (SMU)
   4. Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
   5. Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
   6. Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)
3. Achieved good academic results in his/her course of study and have obtained admission to the Master’s degree programme.
4. If the academic results between shortlisted applicants are comparable, then those with a lower PCI shall be given priority.
5. Not in receipt of any other scholarships.
6. Maintain annual average minimum GPA/CAP score of 3.5 out of 5.0 or equivalent throughout their scholarship term.

Value of Award

The MENDAKI-MIRXES Scholarship will be awarded to two students pursuing a Master’s degree coursework programme in science or engineering-related fields at local autonomous universities. Each awardee will receive $15,000 per year for two years.

1. Total Number of Awards Available : 2
2. Quantum : $15,000 per year
3. Period of Scholarship : 2026 - 2028 (2 years)
4. Total Value of Award : $30,000 per recipient

Terms and Conditions

1. Only complete applications with all mandatory documents provided will be processed. Applications that do not fulfill the eligibility requirements will be rejected.
2. Applicant must be a confirmed student of the local institutions mentioned above.
3. Applicants will be shortlisted based on a competitive evaluation among eligible applicants. Do note that fulfilling the eligibility requirements does not automatically result in an award.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
5. The Scholarship is intended to support the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for institution-organised educational activities.
6. To serve a 2-year bond with MiRXES upon graduation.

1. Applicant’s latest academic transcript results clearly indicating:
   1. Full Name
   2. Name of Course & Level and
   3. Subject Score or CGPA
2. Proof of student confirmation into Institution clearly indicating:
   1. Full Name
   2. Name of Course and
   3. Start Date
3. In no more than 250 words, share your achievements & outline your goals for the next 5 & 10 years.
4. Other supporting documents if any.
