MENDAKI strives to make our programmes such as MTS as accessible as possible. However, we are constrained by practical limitations, such as the shrinking cohort size for Sec 5N(A), which is due to relatively low birth rates and the increasing popularity of other pathways after S4N(A), such as the Direct-entry-scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) and Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP).

We have thus ensured that there is an MTS centre in each region that offers S5N(A) classes. These centres are chosen based on proximity to MRT stations and accessibility within the respective region.

The 5 centres are:

• Admiralty Secondary School 
• Clementi Town Secondary School
• Hougang Secondary School 
• Changkat Changi Secondary School 

MENDAKI strives to make our programmes such as MTS as accessible as possible. We regularly engage potential centres on the feasibility of opening MTS classes. This is dependent on the level of demand in the area, whether the premises are already taken up by other activities, and other factors such as the overall availability of tutors.

We have thus been able to open about 90 MTS centres currently. The list of centres is available on our website at https://www.mendaki.org.sg/centre_listing_category/mts-centre-listing/.

Please let us know using the “Contact Us” link above (choose “Education Support – School (Including Tuition) under “Topic”) which area you live in and where you would prefer an MTS centre to be at, and we will review the feasibility of opening a centre in your area.

As it will be next year at the earliest that we would be able to open a new centre, in the meantime, do take another look at the list of centres available to see if there is one that may meet you and your child’s needs, even if not quite near your house.

We are continuously monitoring the demand at MTS centres and strive to meet the needs of parents as far as possible. If the registration demand is growing rapidly at a particular MTS centre, we will engage the centre owner (e.g. school) to see if there are more classrooms available to meet the demand. 

Some centres offer only 1 subject due to various constraints.

You may wish to sign up for:

• A second class at a virtual/online centre or a different physical centre, OR
• A different centre that offers more than 1 subject.

You will be notified over email as well as on the MyMENDAKI portal. Please check for emails from Yayasan MENDAKI in the inbox of the email address that you used to register for your MyMENDAKI account. Depending on the filters you set for your inbox, you may also wish to check for emails in your spam/junk folder. Alternatively, please log in to your MyMENDAKI account via https://my.mendaki.org.sg/Authentication/Login. You will find your registration details under “My Applications”.

Waitlisted students will be placed in a centre if one of the following occurs:

• A student who has confirmed a place for the same class in that centre withdraws, or
• The number of waitlisted students for a specific class at the centre reaches 3, which will allow us to open a class if there are still classrooms available.

You will be notified via your registered email address once you are successfully placed. Alternatively, you can also log in the MyMENDAKI portal via https://my.mendaki.org.sg/Authentication/Login to check your waitlisting status under “My Applications”.

Waitlisting will end in early December, so you should be able to either secure a place or be notified to find an alternative MTS centre at that point.

It is hard to give a definitive answer to this question at the moment as the waitlisting system is new. We will strive to ensure that every student waitlisted gets into the MTS of his/her preference. We seek your understanding if this is not possible due to factors beyond our control, such as the availability of classrooms.

For those who are still waitlisted at the end of the waitlisting period in early December, we will contact you on securing a suitable place at an alternative MTS centre nearby.

We seek your kind understanding that refunds are not possible as the fee goes into the cost of running the tuition programme, including the registration process. You may wish to choose a nearby MTS centre with available places if you are unsuccessful in waitlisting for your preferred centre.

A flat $10 commitment fee per student is chargeable to all parents upon registration for MTS.

The cost of running the tuition programmes is significant, and the fee will go towards covering only a very small part of it to facilitate a more user-friendly registration system and faster registration processes. It also represents a commitment on the part of parents to invest in their child’s education and future.

The registration fee was reviewed as part of the overall changes to MTS registration arising from an internal business process re-engineering project we undertook to streamline processes and cut costs at the same time. The project yielded significant benefits, especially for parents, such as instant registration for MTP and a more user-friendly system for registering.

Our vision is to make MTS accessible for all students and, with the aid of our new streamlined processes, we are happy to have managed to greatly reduce our fees.

During the MTS re-registration period in October, we strongly encourage you to register your Primary 6 child in an MTS centre first, based on the stream that you can foresee your child to be placed in the following year. This will ensure that your child’s placement is confirmed.

We will contact you once the PSLE results are you to inform you that you can update your MTS selection (whether to switch streams or centres), if needed.

Yes, once the PSLE results are out, you can log in to your MyMENDAKI portal account via https://my.mendaki.org.sg/Authentication/Login.

Go to “My Applications”, and make the change to the stream and/or MTS centre for your child.

No further fees will be charged as you would have already paid the fees earlier.

If you use MyInfo, you don’t need any documents at all! MyInfo is a convenient and secure service for you to easily retrieve your personal info from government-verified data sources. If you’re not able to use MyInfo, please have these documents ready before starting your registration:

• Your child’s Birth Certificate (BC)
• Parent’s NRIC (Front & Back)

If you are registering your stepchild, note that MyInfo does not retrieve your stepchild’s particulars (unless you have legally adopted him/her). You would thus need to manually key in his info and upload his BC.

Authenticated through SingPass, MyInfo is a digital personal data platform which helps citizens fill in digital forms automatically instead of doing so repeatedly for every transaction.

It would be ideal to have a dedicated laptop/computer/tablet/phone for every child, especially if we are required to conduct the lesson online due to the prevailing safe management measures.

If you don’t have a dedicated device, we strongly advise you to approach your child’s school to seek help with applying for the NEU-PC scheme, which provides disadvantaged households with affordable options to own a laptop.

If you are ineligible for the NEU-PC scheme and unable to afford buying a personal device, please let us know via the Contact Us button above, and we can arrange for the tutors to email your child the class materials.

If your child has specific medical conditions, both existing and past e.g. asthma, epilepsy, heart issues to name a few, we strongly recommend you let us know during registration. Also let us know what actions need to be taken to address these medical conditions if they arise during MTS classes.

This would enable MENDAKI to share the info with your child’s MTS tutor(s) so that they are aware and can take the necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of your child.

We still treat the info you share sensitively and on a strict need-to-know basis.

Myinfo is a service that allows Singpass users to manage their personal data and pre-fill forms, with their consent, in digital services transactions.

You can apply for SAS after registering your child in MENDAKI tuition to receive further assistance to support the learning needs of your child. The assistance for 2024 comes in the form  transport credits and will be disbursed in 2 tranches for each student as follows:

Yes, if you are:

1. Student must be a Malay/Muslim Singaporean or Permanent Resident. 
2. Registered in the MENDAKI Tuition Scheme (MTS) 

3. Income eligibility that fits at least one of the criteria below:

• Received MOE’s FAS or MUIS’ PROMAS (2023 or 2024), or
• Received MSF’s ComCare (2023 or 2024), or
• Received MUIS’ Zakat (2023 or 2024), or
• Have gross monthly Per Capita Income (PCI) ≤ $750

1. Applicant’s NRIC (front and back) (as the parent/guardian)

2. Approval letter of at least one of these schemes (2023 or 2024):

• MOE’s FAS or MUIS’ PROMAS, or
• MSF’s ComCare, or
• MUIS’ Zakat, or

If approval letter is not available, please provide income documents for the purpose of PCI computation.

You will receive an approval email from MENDAKI between 2 and 4 weeks from the date of application, stating the outcome of your SAS application as well as information on disbursement of the transport credit.

Eligibility Criteria for non-Muslim Students registering for MTS:

• Chinese students – MHI $4,800 &/or PCI $1,400 and below
• Eurasian students – PCI $1,200 and below
• Indian students – no eligibility criteria

The tuition fees have been reduced to a one-time $10 registration fee per student per year, to make it more affordable and accessible to all.

This $10 fee is applicable to:

• All Malay/Muslim students
• Chinese students with gross MHI of $4,800 and below and/or gross PCI of $1,400 and below
• All Indian students with PCI $1,600 and above

Note: Eurasian students with gross PCI of $1,200 and below need not pay any fees

Students/parents who have difficulty paying fees may seek a fee waiver from their respective SHGs.
