Education Trust Fund – Jamae Kalvi Bursary

Introduction 

The scheme was introduced in February 2022.  It is to support deserving Muslim students, prioritising those from financially disadvantaged families, enrolled in local institutes of technical education (ITE), polytechnics and autonomous universities. It is to encourage these students to continue to excel in their studies. 

Objective 

To support financially disadvantaged Muslim students at the local ITEs, Polytechnics and Autonomous Universities.

Eligibility 

(A) ETF – Jamae Kalvi Bursay ITE 

  • Muslim Singapore Citizen holding a valid National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) or permanent resident (PR) of Singapore; 
  • Pursuing a full-time ITE programme offered by any local ITE; 
  • Have a gross Household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$650.00 and below;
  • Good academic results in his/her course of study and 
  • Not in receipt of any other bursaries.

(B) ETF – Jamae Kalvi Bursary Polytechnic 

  • Muslim Singapore Citizen holding a valid National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) or permanent resident (PR) of Singapore; 
  • Pursuing a full-time Polytechnic programme offered by any local Polytechnic; 
  • Have a gross Household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$650.00 and below;
  • Good academic results in his/her course of study and 
  • Not in receipt of any other bursaries.

(C) ETF – Jamae Kalvi Bursary University 

  • Muslim Singapore Citizen holding a valid National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) or permanent resident (PR) of Singapore; 
  • Pursuing a full-time  university programme offered by any local Autonomous University:
    (a) National University of Singapore (NUS)
    (b) Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
    (c) Singapore Management University (SMU)
    (d) Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
    (e) Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
    (f) Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS); 
  • Have a gross Household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$650.00 and below;
  • Good academic results in his/her course of study and 
  • Not in receipt of any other bursaries.

Condition

  • Candidates will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents from the applicants.
  • Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates and being eligible does not guarantee a placement. 
  • Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants, and they must have been accepted by the institution. 
  • Each Bursary is applicable for one (1) Academic Year. 
  • The Bursary shall be used for the recipients’ educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the Recipient is enrolled in. 
  • Recipient(s) shall be eligible to re-apply under the Bursary in the subsequent year subject to the fulfilment of the criteria.

4) Family Members’ Particulars Form (Pls download the form here: Family Members Particulars Form)
5) Income Declaration Form (Pls download the form here: Income Declaration Form)
6) Parents or Guardian Latest Payslip / Letter from Employer Confirming Latest CPF statement
7) Short write up on your personal goals. Pls upload in MsWord format (Min. 150 words)
8) Other Documents 

Please note that incomplete applications and incomplete documents will not be processed. Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected.
